Defend your base and zap your foes in X-Morph: Defense

X-Morph: Defense is a hybrid game that combines elements of a top-down shoot-'em-up and a tower defense game. In an inversion of the classic formula, you play as the alien invaders, trying to establish a base on Earth that you must then defend from pesky humans. You protect your base by building weapon turrets, walls and defense installations; then, when the enemy begins its attack, you jump into your fighter ship to battle them head-on.

Build, blast, repeat

X-Morph: Defense is a frantic, fast-paced game in which you need to combine both action gameplay and careful resource management. The main campaign features numerous side missions that help you gather the materials and resources to build new weapons and defenses. If you don't complete these, you may find the campaign missions a little too challenging. Even with the extra loot, this isn't a game for players who mind some frustration. At higher levels, it's fast-paced and fiendishly difficult, requiring both careful planning and fast reactions. In addition to single-player, you can play in local co-op mode, adding new advantages and challenges. After around the campaign's midway point, few new innovations are added, which can make mid-game battles seem repetitive.

Conquer the Earth today!

If you like both twin-stick shooters and resource management games, X-Morph: Defense is a fun hybrid of the two. It's challenging, which some players may find frustrating.
